FLAVORS FROM OUR LAND

The flavors we offer are the product of our land. Mata Rapada wines were born from the vines planted here and the homonymous olive oil, from the centennial olive grove. Among the terraces on the hillside, it is easy to stumble upon some seasonal fruits.

COZY SPACES

Built on a quiet hillside, Quinta Vale de Lobos is separated from the other side by the Douro River. At a distance, at the top of the mountain, you can see the Miradouro of São Leonardo da Galafura and,down below, on the railway tracks, steam trains go up and down. With each boat that the dam allows to pass, the mirror of the sky formed in the water is destroyed.

In all rooms, the guarantee and privilege of not losing sight of this landscape. In addition to four suites for the most intimate moments, the house has common spaces prepared for the “7 months of winter and 3 of hell” that the local legend promises.

LIFE IN THE VINEYARD

Life on the Quinta Vale de Lobos belongs both to those looking for peace and to the most adventurous – there are trails for everyone.

Every year, in September, the harvest is planned. At Quinta Vale de Lobos, there is an effort to preserve tradition. The day begins before the sun rises and ends before it sets. Harvesting is done using ancient methods and the menu is the same as it was a hundred years ago.

Five minutes away from Quinta Vale de Lobos, in Folgosa do Douro, the famous DOC (By Chef Rui Paula) awaits you for one of the best meals of your life. There, the Clube Náutico is the closest contact with the Douro banks. About 15 minutes away, in Peso da Régua, a city full of experiences to fill your days.
